As well as being a guitar teacher for over ten years, I am currently one of a pair of singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalists with The Empty Pages, a folk/country duo who have released 2 albums and 1 single since 2017, through Sacred Geometry Records. We have enjoyed radio airplay all over the world and have had positive reviews from multiple online music bloggers and other magazines.
I spent 8 years (2006-2014) playing, recording and touring as a guitarist with The Contrast, an indie/psychedelic/rock band from Peterborough. Highlights included playing the SXSW music festival in Austin, Texas in 2006; playing New York's CMJ Music Marathon festival 3 years running (2006-2009); playing on the iconic arched stage at The Cavern Club as part of the International Pop Overthrow festival in Liverpool several years running from 2006 onwards; playing on the Artist Bandstand Stage at the 2011 Hard Rock Calling event in Hyde Park, London; opening for Mott the Hoople at the Manchester O2 in 2013; recording several albums with producer Andy Hawkins in Leeds, while being signed to New York record labels Rainbow Quartz and Little Steven Van Zandt's Wicked Cool Records, as well as UK label Angel Air Records.
For 13 years (2007-2020) I played guitar for The Overdubs, a popular rock/pop covers band performing at pubs, clubs, weddings, parties and other functions.
Earlier guitar career highlights include playing and writing with Tauracine, a pop-punk band from Peterborough, who released several EPs and shared a stage with the likes of Bowling for Soup, Zebrahead, Wheatus and Army of Freshmen.
My first experience of extensive gigging and recording came with rock band White Heat (1999-2001). The band released an album in 2000 which had positive reviews from Kerrang and Classic Rock magazines.
Before starting my guitar teaching business I was manager of Peterborough Music from 2001-2007, and before that I worked as a sales assistant at Oundle Music, a job I went to straight after leaving school in 1998.
Aside from guitar lessons, I am available for session work on the guitar or as a backing vocalist. I am also happy to take on transcribing projects. Please contact me to discuss further.
